You’ll need to provide acceptable identification when replacing a lost, stolen, or damaged driver’s License in Alberta. The registry agent will retain your old License and provide you with a temporary interim License to use until your new driver’s License arrives in the mail (up to 21 days).
Your interim paper License will not have a photograph. If you anticipate needing photo ID during this period, we recommend you carry with you some other form of photo ID (e.g. passport). Your new permanent License card will arrive in the mail within 3 weeks of your application date.
