Appointments for knowledge tests are not required and exams are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Your exam must start at least 30 minutes before closing time.

Knowledge tests are designed to assess your understanding of Alberta’s road rules, traffic laws, and road signs. These tests help ensure drivers have the necessary knowledge to drive safely and responsibly on the province’s roads. If you’re a new driver applying for a learner’s permit, you will be required to take a knowledge test. Successfully passing the knowledge test is a step towards obtaining your learner’s permit.

After completing the knowledge test, you will receive your test results. If you pass the test, you’ll be one step closer to obtaining your learner’s permit or renewing/upgrading your License. If you don’t pass, you have the opportunity to retake the test again but will need to pay for the fees.

When you’re ready, you can book your road test with us. Road test bookings can now be booked online or in person and paid in full at the time of booking. You provide your own vehicle, or you may use our late-model rental car for a fee.
